Strengthening cross-border systems for preventing and extinguishing forest fires and improving resources for rural employment creation post-Covid-19 (FIREPOCTEP)
Project promoted by the cooperation programme Interreg V-A Spain-Portugal (POCTEP) 2014-2020 and 75% funded by the European Regional Development Fund (ERDF).
OBJECTIVES:
Identify Strategic Management Zones to minimize the risk and impact of large fires through integral landscape management in the face of global climate change.
Encourage public and private investment through pilot experiments in the field of Circular Green Economy and research of new market opportunities.
Educating the rural population, fixed and occasional, about the risk of large forest fires, good preventive practices and self-protection. Training and equipping the staff of cross-border operations.
